Dr. Janacek

Dr. Monica Janacek, DVM, MBA

Dr. Janacek grew up on a farm in the small town of Hallettsville, Texas. She always had a large menagerie of animals growing up and never imagined herself as anything other than a veterinarian. In 2000, Dr. Janacek graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. She then went on to vet school at Texas A&M and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2004. After receiving a scholarship, she attended the Mays Business School at Texas A&M and received a Masters of Business Administration in 2005. Dr. Janacek started as a large animal veterinarian but unfortunately had a total shoulder replacement in 2006 which ended her large animal career. She has been practicing small animal medicine and surgery at Simonton Veterinary Clinic for over 12 years. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Chris, and her two children, Melanie and Sam.

Dr. Kastner, DVM

Dr. Kastner grew up on a farm/ranch in south Texas and has enjoyed the company of animals for as long as she can remember. She attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a BS in animal science prior to completing her doctorate of veterinary medicine from Texas A&M in 2006. She practiced in south Texas as an ambulatory mixed animal veterinarian with an emphasis on bovine/equine medicine before transitioning to predominantly small animal medicine.

When not at the clinic, Dr. Kastner spends her time at the family ranch in South Texas where she manages a large Brangus cow/calf operation. She and her two energetic boys enjoy salt water fishing, swimming and playing at the beach. She is an avid baker, foodie and loves to garden.

She enjoys working with the local community and their pets to keep them in the best health possible and is excited to join the Simonton Veterinary Clinic team.
